Čekali jste na tohle? Alespoň jsem byl. Nejsem velkým fanouškem odinstalace celého operačního systému za účelem instalace nejnovější verze, ale neměl jsem žádnou možnost, dokud nebyl vydán CentOS 7 – to znamená, že CentOS 7 přichází s funkcí upgradu na místě, která vám umožňuje upgradovat z CentOS 6. x až 7 bez odinstalace/formátování celého OS. Jak skvělé to je?
K upgradu z CentOS 6.x na 7 použijeme oficiální metodu.
Postup :
- Musíte mít oprávnění root
- Prohledejte svůj operační systém pomocí nástroje Preupgrade Assistant Tool.
- Importujte klíč GPG CentOS 7
- Upgradujte pomocí nástroje RedHat Upgrade Tool
Disclaimer: Although we are going to follow official upgradation method, there are chances that the upgrade might fail. There are plenty of reasons - this method is still not matured enough to handle packages that were not installed from official repositories. For instance, if you had installed packages from EPEL repository or any other third party repos, then those packages might have problems. It's advised to try upgradation procedure on a freshly installed CentOS 6.x. Follow this tutorial at your own risk and Techglimpse or the author is not responsible if the process didn't work for you.

Poznámka:Výše uvedený krok bude nějakou dobu trvat a váš systém se několikrát restartuje, aby byla aktualizace dokončena. Během procesu se načtou spouštěcí obrazy a stahují se potřebné balíčky, než bude možné po restartu spustit instalaci.
