Většina vzdělávacích institucí stále používá písma Microsoft. U jiných zemí si nejsem jistý. Ale v Tamilnadu (Indie), Times New Roman a Arial fonty jsou stále široce používány téměř všemi druhy dokumentačních prací, projektů a úkolů na vysokých školách a školách. Nejen vzdělávací instituce, většina státních a soukromých úřadů, malé organizace a obchody stále používají písma MS Windows. Instalace písem Microsoft do počítačů Ubuntu 18.04 a 16.04 LTS
Nainstalujte písma MS TrueType, jak je znázorněno níže:
$ sudo apt update
$ sudo apt install ttf-mscorefonts-installer
Zobrazí se průvodce smlouvou s koncovým uživatelem společnosti Microsoft. Klikněte na OK pokračovat.
Klikněte na Ano přijmout smlouvu Microsoft:
Po instalaci písem musíme aktualizovat mezipaměť písem pomocí příkazu:

Instalace písem Microsoft Windows v duálním spouštění s Linuxem a Windows
Pokud máte duální spouštěcí systém s operačním systémem Linux a Windows, můžete snadno nainstalovat písma MS z jednotky Windows C. Jediné, co musíte udělat, je připojit oddíl Windows (C:/Windows ).
Předpokládám, že jste připojili C:\Windows oddíl na /Windowsdrive adresář v Linuxu.
Nyní propojte umístění písem se složkou písem systému Linux, jak je znázorněno níže.
ln -s /Windowsdrive/Windows/Fonts /usr/share/fonts/WindowsFonts
Po propojení složky fonts znovu vygenerujte mezipaměť fontconfig pomocí příkazu:
fc-cache
Případně zkopírujte všechna písma Windows do /usr/share/fonts adresář a nainstalujte písma pomocí následujících příkazů:
mkdir /usr/share/fonts/WindowsFonts
cp /Windowsdrive/Windows/Fonts/* /usr/share/fonts/WindowsFonts
chmod 755 /usr/share/fonts/WindowsFonts/*
Nakonec vygenerujte mezipaměť fontconfig pomocí příkazu:
fc-cache
Testujte a používejte písma systému Windows v Ubuntu
Po instalaci MS Fonts otevřete LibreOffice nebo GIMP. Nyní tam uvidíte základní písma Microsoft.

Mscorefonts je předinstalovaný v Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS desktop. Takže si myslím, že nejnovější Ubuntu 18.04 LTS uživatelé desktopů nemusí instalovat.

Pokud jste omylem odmítli licenční smlouvu během upgradu z Ubuntu 16.04 LTS na 18.04.3 LTS, můžete přeinstalovat instalační program a získat licenční smlouvu spuštěním následujícího příkazu:
